Periphery is a topic that appears in visual arts in different periods of time and always puts on a different shape according to the society's current state of development. Young artists, who got their residential stays in the studios located in the former Microna building in Modřany, were given the task to deal with this topic. The thing is that the whole year they worked at a suburban place of Prague.
The basic idea of the Art Salon Support project lies in supporting starting artists, who need to find their spot at the Czech and foreign art scene. For the duration of one year Pražská správa nemovitostí and Art Salon S provided young artists with a studio in Prague's Microna building for free. In return these artists had one task, which was to create one piece of art or a series for the assigned topic - "Periphery".
